BATMAN: Under the Red Hood Review

I won’t lie by pretending to know every little detail about Batman but it is no lie at all that he is my favorite character.  In my humble opinion he is one of the greatest characters ever created.  Why?  Batman is just a man who dedicated his life to improve and surpass the abilities of any average man.  He has no superpowers, he is not an alien, and he is definitely not a magical being. lol.  Every skill he possesses had being gained through hard work, dedication, perseverance and the help of lots of money. LOL. I guess one of his best assets is to be a billionaire. Well, money allows him to get some pretty cool gadgets as well as to keep his identity safe.

Today, I watched BATMAN: Under the Red Hood with my sis and nephew. Gosh, I don’t know why we waited until today. I must say that after watching Superman/Batman: Public Enemies I wasn’t so sure what to expect from this new animated film but it was a Batman movie that was already a good reason to watch it, right? If I’ve ever doubted that an animated movie could be so entertaining and engaging this one proved me wrong. This one had all the goods in it. The animation, the action, the fighting scenes and the story were so great. This was nothing like the other Batman animated movies nor like any of the TV series. It felt more adult oriented, it was more darker, violent, and blood was splashing everywhere [well, not everywhere. lol]. All these make it even more awesome to watch Batman doing what he does best. KICK BUTT!!

Watching Batman in action is always a delight and having Jensen Ackles to voice the Red Hood was a double treat. XD I really would have loved to have Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker but the new voice actors did a great job nonetheless. The voices still kept true to the characters; although, I still need to get use to the new joker voice.

I was very happy to watch Nightwing working together with Batman without holding any grudges as he did on some of the Batman tv series episodes. It’s great to see that Nightwing still holds his Robin’s charm and sense of humor. The Red Hood was pretty awesome! So far, he proved that he can be “almost” on equal footing with Batman. I mean, this film really left that impression on me, the fighting scenes were really great so, what can I say? Whether people agree with me or not, the fact is that the movie managed to leave a pretty cool impression of the Red Hood. In my opinion, he is a really cool character that even if he cannot surpass Batman, he sure can give him a worthy fight. After all he was trained by one of the best. XD

This animated movie is much, much better than those Hollywood Batman films. None of those films can compare with what I saw on this one. No matter how many special effects they use to make the film appealing, it fails to capture the essence of what makes Batman one of the greatest character, superhero ever created.

In my opinion this was and is one of the best animated films I have seen. Hopefully, they will keep doing more movies like this one.

EkkE =^..^=

About foolishlife

Words cannot describe what we are. We are a little bit complicated to explain. All we can say about ourselves is that we live a foolish life. EkkE-Mekka, we are sister and Ed is our little nephew. The three of us are always finding new ways to pass the time. We cosplay, write, sew, draw, do crafts, chase the ice cream man and a whole lot of other things. So, we hope you enjoy reading about our silly adventures.

    We enjoyed the Nightwing/Batman interaction too. Likely our favorite part.

    How old are your sis and nephew? This is NOT for kids. Eww.

    It had style, and definitely will appeal to hardcore comic fans looking for a very dark and mature story. However it is not a “fun” Batman adventure by any means. And mature does not equal enjoyment. We think this one has a more narrow fanbase than many of their other releases.

    Here is our take with a lot of pics and a little humor if your are interested:

      Yes, you are right, this is not a fun batman adventure like other ones and it is not for kids at all. It is a little bit more adult oriented. I was just comparing it with those hollywood Batman films. I just believe that if people want to see a more mature story about Batman I think it is much better as an animated film like this one. By the way, my sister and nephew are old enough to watch this movie. ^^

      Thank you so much for your comment and for the link. XD
